Here's what's going on the first week of school!
8/11-8/15
We are going to take this first week of school to go over some super important rules and procedures. We will be going over playground rules, classroom rules/procedures, carline procedures, safety, morning mile, equipment handling, and so much more. I know it's a lot but rules are there for a reason and so important to keep things running smoothly and safely. Not to mention, creating the optimal learning environment. We are also going to take some time to get acclimated to this lovely Florida weather!!! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!! Fear not, we will also squeeze in some fun "get to know you games" and free time.

IMPORTANT!!!! Here are a couple of SUPER important reminders for this year!
DRESS CODE
Students will be required to not only dress in accordance with the school dress code but also appropriately for PE. Students must wear tennis shoes/sneakers only (no flip flops, crocs, open toed shoes) and shorts must be worn under dresses. Shorts should be an appropriate length, which is finger tip, and should be visible when wearing a jacket or hoodie. Please make sure that dresses and tops also fit accordingly and are not too loose or show an excess amount of skin. Students may be asked to sit out of PE if they are not wearing appropriate clothing or shoes and parents may have to be notified to bring a change of clothes. To ensure safety and optimal participation students need to follow the MACS dress code policy, as well as certain PE standards.
WEATHER
It is HOT, HOT, HOT!! PE and recess are outside everyday unless there is inclement weather. Please make sure your students are dressed appropriately for hot weather but within school dress code. If the temperature is over 80 degrees, hoodies may not be worn to PE or recess. It is also imperative that they properly hydrated BEFORE they come to PE and recess. Class is sometimes held in direct sunlight. If your child burns easily, please apply sunscreen before they come to school.
PE EVERYDAY
Don't forget! Your student has PE every day!!!! Only exception is 5th grade, who has no PE on Wednesdays.
COMMUNICATION
Obviously, if you are reading this you have found my webpage!!! Thank you!!!! This webpage will be updated every 2 weeks. You will be informed of what your student is participating in for PE and other important information. Please see the attachments at the bottom of the page. They include the PE letter to parents, PE syllabus, and information on Morning Mile. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me instead of your child's teacher. They are not present in class and will be forwarding all PE emails to me from now on. My email is nunezl@macschool.us! Email is the best way to reach me because I have a very busy schedule during the day. All emails and phone calls will be answered at the end of the school day.
