Welcome to VPK Mini Manatees!

We are so excited to begin this special journey with you and your child. VPK is a wonderful time filled with learning through play, exploring new ideas, making friends, and building the skills that will prepare students for kindergarten. Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child feels loved, valued, and excited to come to school each day.

We look forward to meeting our newest Mini Manatees and their families at Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 7th, from 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, visit with other families, and learn more about the exciting year ahead.

The First Day of School is Monday, August 10th, and we can't wait to welcome our newest learners to campus!

Daily Schedule

• Drop-off: 8:00–8:15 a.m.
• The cafeteria opens at 7:15 a.m. for students who need to arrive early.
• Our class begins promptly at 8:15 a.m., so arriving on time helps your child start the day successfully.
• Pick-up: 11:15 a.m. (unless your child is enrolled in Extended Day).
• Extended Day students are dismissed at 1:00 p.m. every Wednesday due to early release.

During the First Few Weeks

The beginning of the school year is all about helping students feel comfortable, confident, and excited about coming to school. Together we will learn:

• The names of important people at school.
• What to do if we feel scared, sad, or need help.
• Our classroom rules and daily routines.
• When different activities happen throughout the day.
• Who works in our school and how they help us.
• How to make friends, work together, and be a kind member of our classroom community.

Our first mini study will explore:

• What sounds do we hear at school?
• Where do those sounds come from?

Helpful Reminders

• Please send a refillable water bottle every day and label it with your child's name.
• Be sure to label all personal belongings to help us keep track of them.
• We follow the school-wide dress code. Shirts and dresses should have sleeves (no tank tops), and students should wear closed-toe sneakers every day. Please do not send flip-flops, Crocs, or shoes that can easily slip off during play and learning.

We are looking forward to an amazing year of learning, laughter, and new adventures. Thank you for trusting us with your little learner—we can't wait to watch them grow!
