Micanopy Area Cooperative School is a FREE charter school located in beautiful, historic Micanopy, FL. We have Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade. The school is located twenty minutes south of Gainesville.

MACS offers the following benefits for your child and family:

  • FREE before school care with morning activities: Morning Mile, Homework Help and morning clubs.
  • After school care provided by Blue Wave Afterschool Program
  • Offer onsite cooked breakfast and lunch as part of the National School Lunch Program
  • Daily PE, including N.A.S.P. Archery and RadKids Instruction
  • Weekly Music and Art classes
  • Daily Recess 
  • FREE VPK program
  • Small, family friendly environment
  • Active Parent Teacher Organization  (PTO), hosts a variety of family engagement activities such as S.T.E.A.M. Night, Talent Shows, Founder’s Day, Color Run
  • Active Board Advisory Committee (BAC),  composed of steakholders who plan with the school administration school improvement. 
  • MACS will be serving 7th and 8th grades in coming years.
