Upcoming Kindergarten - 5th Grade Summer Slide Challenge
Did you know that many students experience a "summer slide" during the break? Summer slide refers to the loss of academic skills and knowledge that can happen when students are away from school for an extended period of time. To help our students stay sharp and continue learning, we are excited to launch our Summer Slide Challenge for the upcoming K-5th graders. Students can complete fun and engaging activities throughout the summer to practice their math and reading skills.
Completed work is due Friday, August 14th. The options are listed below as an attachment. There are 4 options to choose from. Select which challenge works best for your and your child. Please Note: Some activities may require students to print materials at home in order to complete the challenge. If you decide to take the I-Ready route keep in mind that you may not have access after the end of July.
We encourage families to join in the fun and help your child keep their brain active all summer long. Together, we can prevent the summer slide and start the new school year strong! Happy learning and have a wonderful summer!
